ENGLISH

Djurrättsfonden (The Animal Rights Fund) is a non-profit association that donates financial support, as help to pay fines and damages, to a person convicted by a court in Sweden, due to their commitment to the animals’ liberation (for example due actions, or the like). Djurrättsfunden was launched in March 2024.

The Board is Djurrättsfondens decision-making and executive body. The board is tasked with deciding whether or not to allocate financial assistance to a person who applied. Decisions on support are based on the association’s statutes. The Board consists of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and up to three members. In 2023-24 Max Nilsson was elected Chairman, and Andreas Kahnberg Vice Chairman of Djurrättsfonden.

Apply for financial support by contacting Djurrättsfonden by e-mail (the fund only processes applications by e-mail). After submitting the application, the board will contact you. Djurrättsfonden needs to get information about why you are applying, and how much support you need. Further questions and discussion about an application are subsequently taken with the person applying.

E-POST: djurrattsfonden@riseup.net

The application may be made by, or on behalf of, a person who is in need of financial assistance due to legal costs associated with commitment to the liberation of animals. In each application, it can be examined, if necessary, whether the individual’s financial situation affects whether, or how much, support will be donated. In order to be eligible for financial support, the applicant must not have behaved in violation of the association’s principles. Djurrättsfonden do not accept speciesism, sexism, racism or otherwise oppressively behavior. Such behavior is taken into account in the assessment of whether or not financial support should be allocated to a person. Last date to apply for funding is 2 month after definite sentence.

The fund bases its activities on financial gifts. If you want to support Djurrättsfondens activities, you are welcome to donate money through bankgiro. You can also donate by making a recurrent bank transfer to our bank account, which is a good way to support the fund in the long term. Mark all donations with “fund”. The money goes to offer support to those who need to pay court costs, as a result of their commitment to the liberation of animals. A small part of the money will be used for administrative expenses (for example, the cost of the bank account).
